Believe the unbelievable

My debut novel Space Hopper (or Faye, Faraway as it’s called in the US) is about taking a leap of faith. Faye, the main character, finds that she can travel in time back to 1977, when her mother was still alive, and visits her as an adult (she also encounters her younger self). Faye may ask you to believe the unbelievable, but this isn’t science fiction or fantasy, despite the time travel. It’s a story about mothers and daughters, love and loss, grief and hope. It tackles some serious issues, but aims to be uplifting and positive. Space Hopper asks how do we ask the right questions while we still can? Can we make up for lost time? And how do we choose to let go when we don’t really have to?

Space Hopper has been shortlisted for the 2022 RNA Fantasy Romantic Novel Award.
